Default Need suggestions: hiring a car with tow bar

    Hi guys,

I'm after suggestions for where to hire a car with a towbar in Sydney, but not a ute.

We're currently living in Hong Kong, but still have our pop-up camper in Australia. When we come back to Australia for Christmas, we would like to take the camper away somewhere (probably the NSW South coast). We need either a sedan/wagon on 4WD with a towbar, but the major hire companies only have utes with towbars available.

    Any suggestions gratefully received.

Thanks Col, I'll call to check whether any of their vehicles have towbars fitted.

A crowd that rents older vehicles might have one with a towbar.

Thanks Roger. Do you know of any places in Sydney?

No idea, sorry. I imagine you will find them with a search. A lot of them have self-deprecatory names like "rent a wreck" or "rent a bomb". They certainly used to. My thinking is they buy second hand cars rather than the new ones the big national chains buy. They might buy a Commodore or a Falcon or a 380 or something else with a bit of size to it, with a towbar already on it, and they are generally a bit more relaxed with their rules than the big national chains. So it's worth a try.
