Default 15mm (ID) heater hose required

    Howdy all,

Does anyone know a supplier in Australia who can provide (bulk-ish) lengths of 15mm heater hose?

The 15.9mm/ 5/8" hose is just too large.

    Thanks & regards,
    Rhys

I've had problems finding marginally smaller than 16mm heater hose to.

I ended up using 16mm hose, but covering the fittings with heavy duty self gluing heat shrink tube.

    Worked a treat.

    Thanks Robmac,

It's a pretty fair idea (and I have plenty of the self-gluing heatshrink).

Some French auto parts suppliers can supply the 15mm hose....but the shipping is way more than the value of the hose (and I'm not sure of the hose quality). I need 9-10 metres of it.

I'll use the heatshrink as the back-up plan, but I'll hold out a bit longer on the 15mm iD hose.

    Cheers,
    Rhys

Mackay sells 15mm ID hoses. Generic items, but consider this:
Mackay Heater Hose for FORD FALCON 250 ALLOY 6 Cyl CARB XD 80~82 (15mm/22mm x | eBay
You can download their catalogues and search out different hoses by ID etc..
They may also do long lengths if you ask them.

Parker hoses (enzed) have nothing in 15mm listed.

I wonder if 12.7mm hose would stretch with some rubber grease or lanolin as a helper ?

    I think it would.

If you try to stretch the hose from 12.7 to 15mm one or both layers of the rubber get separated from the fabric reinforcement. Then when you apply the clamp there tends to be a stress riser at the barb and clamp interface as the outer layer is compressed. Highly technical way to say I've tried this and burst a hose or three. You know it's about to go when it starts weeping.
