    What a nice surprise.

I wonder if it includes accent updates. It would be nice to have an Australian one

Sad that they were previously charging $150 for updates! The article says that that is the charge after the free period. Note also that you must take the car to an authorized service centre to obtain said free updates. Up -to-date mapping is virtually free via most channels and is easily accessed for most platforms, though not proprietary auto based ones. Auto manufacturers probably consider update charges as a profit centre.

It is like hotels charging exorbitant fees for WiFi even though the cafe around the corner offer it for free. They would not dream of charging $100 for a can of soft drink from the "honor" bar, why rip guests off for WiFi?.

Anyway, kudos to Sime Darby for making this reduction to the cost ownership. John Startari seems pretty switched on, what with longer warranties and this map update offer, so maybe we will see some more marketing moves which will improve the position of the French brands in the Australian market place.

I would have thought that after they sell you the car, they don't really care where you go, nor if you get lost getting there.
