    "Déesse" Roland Barthes, 'Mythologies', 1957

The Déesse has all the characteristics of one of those objects fallen from another universe that fed the mania for novelty in the eighteenth century and a similar mania expressed by modern science fiction: the Déesse is first and foremost the new Nautilus.

Icon14 From a nice era of the nostalgia past.

Well here is my own wish to sing this song "Rags to Riches" from an Era when you could understand the Lyrics and of course share the riches with everyone

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y22tIJ6toPY

I even bought a Tattslotto ticket for Saturday night, but haven't bothered to check it, as a first step on the way

Bit late to spend it all on myself, and thought maybe it is about time I bought a ticket

Maybe I will buy another later this week, what the heck!!

This song has managed to become my personal theme song.

I got the 504 before I could drive, and it needed a lot of work in the first year to get it behaving reliably!

Replace lawyer with engineer, and piano with trumpet. Almost there; I finish my course work at uni in mere months!

THE song for all French car owners!

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=CPkanDMMiwc

    Call in the Doc!

This song was written in a purple Renault 12!

He also wrote a song about the French artist Renoir who painted the blues ( blues/purples ) featured prominently in his paintings of irises and waterlillies.
Sadly, that song never reached popular acceptance when performed live.

    Did someone say 'Ripple'?

    I think Jerry Garcia did. . .

There is a road, no simple highway
Between the dawn and the dark of night
And if you go no one may follow
That path is for your steps alone

    Chorus
    Ripple in still water
When there is no pebble tossed
    Nor wind to blow

    Cheers

Thanks to J-man I just became lost on youtube for a while and found this pearler which includes Edith Plath.

Apparently elbow patch sales spiked after the release of this video..just saying.

It doesn't get more French than this.
