    I got a Floride for you, it's better than a 505.

The last car with truly comfortable seats. None of those bloody horns that are on everything now to keep your legs tightly together. And soft. And woolen.

My R4 has 505 seats(as you do) and they are great.

However I do miss the HG Holden that my Dad made me buy as a first car, like a raging case of syphilis!!!

    I had a straight 8 Buick when I was 21, wrote it off in a head-on,
the insurance money came through a year later, bought a... Beetle.

I miss my Son and his new bride, they have moved to the UK, Edinborough to be precise. Now I feel a little empty.

    Thanks for caring.

    Cheer up!! They'll be back.
A couple of Scottish winters, and the lure of the sun will be overpowering.
I spent 15 years in the "warmish" south of England, and constantly longed for the place "of droughts and flooding rains".
In the last month I was there, Feb 1987, the temperature didn't get above freezinf for a single second of that month.
They'll be back. Trust me, I'm a doctor!

What I DON'T miss, and this is probably heresy on a website such as this, is the bloody Renault 6. that I drove when working in England. About the only thing it had going for it was the ground clearance.
I had the "umbrella handle" gear stick snap as I hit "angel gear" when in the outside lane of an A road-a trouser filling experience, I can assure you!!

I must be a bit younger because the car i miss is a Renault Scenic privilage series 1 manual.

One of the uglier cars on the road but it had comfortable seats with a great driving position and a 2L engine with plenty of poke. Storage was fantastic.
Leather seats, climate control sun roof.

Unfortunatly i wrote it off in an accident.

Now i drive a Renault 12 which is very engaging to drive but i do miss little things like:
    Instant starting
    Decent stereo
    Good Heating and demisting
    Quiet engine
    Only little things

There aren't many cars around that feel so confident on the road as a 505.

    Every French car I've owned.

Last night I was driving around in an 18 month old Mercedes Benz CLS Shooting Brake. Nice as it was in many ways, the ride in these new German cars is simply below par. The other day I was a back seat passenger in an X3. So jittery in the back! Front suspension too. The body control and handling of these new cars might be right up there, but I rarely found the limits of my Renault 25 TXE, and never found them with my various Peugeots, despite trying.

Lets not talk about the seats.

My R25 was arguably the best all-rounder I've owned. Definitely relative to the point in time when I owned it. Supremely comfortable, luxurious, practical, good looking and surprisingly economical to run.

I know exactly what you mean.
If I drive another car, compared to the scenic I miss....50km/h in first gear, 90 in second..
(on that note if ever I hit rev limiter in a non factory renault, I miss the zingzingzingzing sound only the renaults seem to do.
I miss my aftermarket ecu....how do I get that cursed rev limiter to let me do at least the speed limit in first gear??
