Default Take note all you Geugeot collectors!!!

Now here's a bloke who knows what he is selling....not.
(Zoom in on the ebay picture)

Perhaps the admin could set up a new sub-forum just for the Geugeot collectors ...'cos obviously they are "as rare as!"

Geugeot French Motor Spanner Rare AS THE Proverbial | eBay

( if this link does not work? check ebay /-collectables-/tools hardware locks /- Mechanics..newly listed)

    and cheap as well!

Like you say those Geugeot spanners are rare so that is a bargain price

He's probably wondering why he isn't getting as many 'looks' as he was expecting, because you'd think there'd be thousands of Geugeot collectors out there!

    I doubt it.

The seller is more than likely one of classic ebay charlatans that purports to sell rare and priceless items that in many cases are no more than junk collected from local hard rubbish collection.

Ebay requires the physc of caveat emptor to applied rigorously.

The best bit? He's blocked buyers from asking questions!

Bid the bugger up and then bail on him due to "listing error".

I've got an equally rare "Tord" open-ended spanner. Wonder if he'd swap?

If you look at the pics you can see that the name is in the old "Peugeot Freres" script and the "P" could be mistaken for a "G" (especially if your general knowledge is such that you have never heard of Peugeot). He probably googled "Geugeot" and the lack of hits indicated how rare it was!

As an aside...and out of context
This sounds just the sort of comment you would expect from a Renault owner???

Or even from a bloke named "Greenfrog"..who drives Citroens.

    Oooops, sorrrrrry, wasn't me!

(and no retorts ..or replies from Pug owners changing the quote to "...obvious this person is ignorant......")

    Cheers

I have a set of double ended open-ring spanners with the same writing on them, except they are Peugeot brand so perhaps not so rare! There are a couple of spares so if anyone wants one or two, just ask me. Better condition than that one and much, much cheaper.

Picked up a tray full of tools at a garage sale for $10.
Biggest item was a spanner with a lump on one end.
Turns out its a hammer spanner.
    Marked H.V.Mckay.
Bit of googling revealed it was a spanner for a Sunshine Harvester.
    Bit of Australian History.
Gave it a scrub up and soak in molossas solution.
Yesterday I put it on eBay.
By this afternoon the bids were up over $75 with 7 days to go.
Smaller spanner pictured below from same purchase is from a Sunshine Seeder tool kit.
No bids on that one yet

    Interesting spanners!

Most Sunshine harvester part numbers are preceded by an H. Most Sunshine seed drill part numbers are preceded by a D. I have no idea what the S means (SB indicates a reaper and binder part) but perhaps the P part number suggests a plough.

    Rodger,
The Hand Tool Preservation Association of Australia has a good site describing a lot of the old agricultural wrenches.
P206 came with the Sunshine Seeder.

    Hello Paul,

If you read more closely, it came with the No. 9 Sunderseeder. That was a seeding attachment for the Sundercut, which was a stump jump plough. Together, they let a poor farmer cultivate and sow rough ground with just one machine.

That just might explain the P.

    Cheers,
    Roger

    G'day,
I upped my offer to $2-00, and told him it was a Peugeot Brothers spanner, and he withdrew it due to a listing error.

Thanks Rodger I must have skimmed over that one.
Bids were slow to start on it but somebody is interested now.
