    Icon6 Dash Cams.

    G'day,
    Who has one, what is the best and are there any recommended for clarity and number plate recognition.
    I am thinking of buying one, before the big trip.

    I bought the one recommended here: The Best Dash Cam | The Wirecutter G1W-C
    I bought it from these guys Buy Dash Cameras | Dashboard Cameras | Dash Cams For Sale
    It's been pretty good so far. The review does a pretty good summation of it's strengths and weaknesses.

    One thing I absolutely hate, is having wires running around the dash and windscreen for GPS and dashcams and phones etc. I pulled apart the charger it came with, and installed the 12v-5v adapter board inside the 206's overhead cabin light. The light has IGN controlled constant voltage so the camera comes on and off with the key. It's only a small draw, so no need to worry about overloading the fuse etc.
    From there you can run the wire down through the headliner to the camera so it's pretty much set and forget and out of the way.

    If you're desparate, I'll put some footage up on youtube. It's 1080 footage, so fairly good quality in the daytime.

    There's some recent discussion about these on UK French Car Forum, might be worth a read;

    I admit to gear envy re the Pommy bloke with a full remote storage box and twin cameras.
