Those are not for real genuine French car afficianados because they are black. That's why you still have them in the packet. Brown cardigan, brown elbow patches. Brown corduroy sports jacket, brown elbow patches. Usually matched with brown corduroy pants and brown ripple-soled desert boots.

Brown tweed jacket with brown plain or suede patches - perfect old Cit and perfect rugger. They go together here as in France. Allez les Bleus!

Well the move to the Sunny Coast (Buderim) is completed. Uncovering a few more forgotten treasures as I delve into boxes.

I didn't live in Qld in those days but Warwick Farm and Oran Park were never to be missed.

Remember also Annangrove, Catalina Park (Katoomba) and the Mt Panorama Easter Production Car Race, which featured cars sold in Australia with minimal changes. In other words, you saw the cars that appeared on the roads (and that you could buy) with little added except a very good driver. Still remember David MacKay in his silver Jaguar 3.8 silently (compared to the rabble) cruising around the mount. Far more interesting than watching carbon fibre replicas of Heckle and Jeckle.

John, those were the days. Yes Amaroo, freezing to death at Catalina. I don't even turn the TV on for the V8s. Kev

Brown ripple soled desert boots ? Black maybe, never brown. Brown with crepe rubber soles yes.

Possibly, a brown ripple-soled merkin, there very well could have been.....

Just make sure your merkin is ethically sourced and isn't made by sweatshop labour.

I thought that was the reason for a merkin - for those that like it framed
