Have some Sharkbite PEX fittings am using.

Came from the big blue shop.

Noticed whilst in the big green shop they have a similar system, Smartex.

The question is (from those who may know) can the fittings be interchanged?

Manufacturers will tell you that fittings are not interchangeable between brands.

If you are using a crimp (as an alternative to "push on" ) then I'd think you would be pretty safe.

Otherwise measure the OD and ID of the tubes accurately and if they are same you are probably safe.

I'd never trust "push on" anywhere inaccessible anyway.

PEX plumbing is notoriously incompatible, being based on registered designs and patents. Screwed connections are standardised, so you can always join two systems with a screwed union. As for those two brands, I don't know. Sharkbite is from the US.

Just bought some extra sharkbite fittings to complete job.

Now have compressed air throughout the garage using pex.
