    Icon6 Roundabout Chaos

Here in Brisbane there are many drivers on the road that have great difficulty negotiating simple roundabouts. I can just imagine what would occur if they cam across something like the roundabout in the following images:

Yup. They are obsessed with roundabouts in the UK. Even out on the motorways they have them on intersections.

Of course in Paris a roundabout is a parking place for your car

Looking at the original photograph of this "magic" roundabout, I could not fail but notice the strategically placed tree that is already xspreading its branches to obscure part of the sign!

Brings back memories of our visit last year, it was a nightmare to navigate in the U.K due to most of the roundabout signs being obscured by fully grown trees, and no one seems to do a damn thing about it! Of course it doesn't bother the locals so why spend those overpriced pounds on employing someone to cut the trees back.

After all it is only the poor bloody Australians that lose their way!!!!!!! or have to drive three times around each roundabout until they can work out what is going on!! Thank god I had a passenger to navigate and look closely at signs, as there is noway that a driver could digest/compute all that information in the enth of a second you have between passing the tree and sign!!

Maybe its those bloody greenies that conspire to plant trees IN FRONT of signs just so us visitors get hopelessly lost, and refuse to let anyone trim them or is this the way the British Police justify all those speed cameras by making sure there are plenty of hazards to keep the accident rate up to justify more speed cameras!!

Its all part of the madness that is upon us - rape the motorist, pillage their pockets, ruin the enjoyment of driving, and blame them until they feel guilty enough that the government can bring back those sane red flag laws!!!! ROAD SAFETY be dammed!!

Thanks for posting that photograph. I wondered why this was happenning to to the U.K. road system that had deteriorated so much!! I thought it was accidental now know it is "BY DESIGN"

I wonder how long it will take for those pommy road designers to imigrate out here and bring "Safety" (and Magical Chaos) to our road system!!..

    I hate roundabouts!

Too many people have no real understanding of the rules in relation to them.

we camuflage our european background well.

Ren, Ky, Jastanis, we have 3 states and 1 territory covered, and. counting.

Kenfuego, good to see this forum acting like an emotional release for the AF members.
And I too think that Australia is quite ok sign posted compared to some countries.

I think personally we need more roundabouts here in australia. These traffic lights are only for revenue raising and they are so ugly.
Why cant we here have large monuments from times gone by with water features and other little pockets of greenery. It would brighten up most of the cities dull and definatly ugly streetscape. Australia is sometimes so ugly...we have lots to learn.
