There was some discussion about this a month or so ago (not sure if it was pre or post crash). I'm inclined to think of it as superstitious rubbish, but, then again, I've never owned a green car!

I was marshalling at Bathurst the year Dick Johnson crashed his Foulcan coming onto the kink at the top of Conrod straight - man, how he got out of that big green coffin I'll never know........... Remember the Celica of Williamson(?) at Bathurst where they couldn't get the boot open to use the dry-break fuel system and had to hack it open with an axe in the pits? Never buy a green car.....

Ooooh yeh, I once had an old Italian car which was green - at least when I hit the concrete wall whilst not wearing a seatbelt all I got was a scratch on the forehead from the rear view mirror.....

Don't make me go on about green cars......

Yes, green cars are cursed. Years ago my family had a green Toyota Cressida and Mum, who had never had a prang in her life, crashed it twice (only once her fault).

I was driving it when a DOF (drunk old fart) decided that he didn't like the giveway sign and decided to drive his crappy Gemini in front of me. This totalled the car.

Mum and Dad swore to NEVER buy another green car and I have followed suit. Literally I have been shown cars in car yards and the salesman is raving on as they do and I just chop them off with "sorry, it's green!" Leaves em dead in the water.

Leaves Deb a bit stumped at times, but we all have our idiosyncrocies.

    Default Thread disappeared

There was a thread that ended up being about green cars. The thread has disappeared I think in the crash.
Both Webber and the third driver (Wirdham from Sweden) for the team had better be careful I suppose but British racing green might be an exception that proves the rule. (No that's in grammar).
Oh well sure to be a great day for all.

My green Morris Minor rolled down a hill into a telegraph pole... and then had some dill turn into a driveway as I was overtaking him (he didn't use a signal, by the way)...

My green 203 lost an argument with a truck... after some dill had come out of a side street in Parramatta Road and got the rear guard...

My green 403 was wiped out by an idiot in Merrylands...

My green 404 was severely dented in the front after a tyre went flat...

My good green 504 sedan very recently got T-boned by a very inconsiderate driver who was going straight ahead when my stepson was turning right...

But my green Jowett Javelin didn't get crashed at all. Not once... then again, it only did about a thousand miles or so on the two engines I had in it.

Of course it all means nothing... the green 504 Familiale I'm driving has now done nearly a million kms. A kangaroo or two, nothing major, though that hole it nearly fell in on the Brindabella Road would have made a world of difference.

Green cars are cursed, its my problem in my life

First car, 1984 Green Subaru Leone - fell apart and broke down several times.

1985 Holden Commodore, Green - tie rod broke, almost killed me.
Timing gear broke first day, which took out the a/c when changing it.
the electrics melted in heavy rain late at night while driving over the bulladeala bends near newcastle, almost went under a truck that night..
    Finaly blew up

1998 Suzuki Swift Extreem - Green had 5 Caset players, and 7 CD players under warranty + many more things went wrong with it, from electric windows that failed to engine problems

    current car 1991 Peugeot 405 mi16 - Green - Were do i start...

None of my bikes have given me any trouble, because they are not green!

They are cursed, Cursed to burn in hell....

why do green cars always find their way to me, i dont go looking for them, i dont even like green...

    Cheers
    Nathan

I have a green push bike. Perhaps i Should be worried.

I did hit a another cyclist once. The bus was only a small knock.

Perhaps the green menace extends to bicycles too?

    Never owned a green car.

My wife had a green car once, it was a cortina, and I ended up with it when she took the blue Falcon xd for some reason...I can't remember why I let her.
Anyway, It really was a horrible little car...very ordinary...but it never gave us any trouble. I think we traded it in on something else later on.
It never let us down...and it was never in a prang either...not while we had it.

I heard a theory going around some time ago about green cars....something about them being harder to see because they blend in with the trees etc.
Maybe owner/drivers of green cars should try driving with their lights on in the daytime...like volvo drivers.
    Cheers...George 1/8th.

My good green pushbike (which I bought new...) was the one that took me to my destiny with the roadway that cost me three teeth... it was also the one that got a buckled back wheel when a VW hit it one dark and stormy night.

My daggy green pushbike had no problems, however...

We had a green 504 for a while. Never gave trouble. We have a green morris minor in the shed waiting to be restored as well.

I have heard that a study was done that found Green and Lilac cars were the most likely to be the victims of road rage, which was most likely to be perpetrated by drivers of red or black cars.

I had a green 504 that my cat scratched slightly once. The mark polished out ok though. Other than that it should be the colour of trees and not cars.
