How do you reckon this baby would fare in a Traffic Light GP?

The talk over there is that they suspect it could have been a "sleeper" Police patrol car. Wouldn't it have given a few some surprises??

If it ain't broke, use a 12" shifter.....that usually does the trick!!

Sounds suss to me. How would you expect a v6 turbo to:

a/ Fit in the engine bay of a 306 including space for the gearbox?

b/ Get all that power to the ground through what looks like fairly standard tyres?

c/ Handle all that weight in the front end without the arse beating you around the corner?

Mind you in the recent RCCA magazine there were pics and words about the Clio Sport that has a V6 power train grafted into the rear of the car! (Obviously the normal drivetrain is not fitted). Now that WOULD be fun

there are a few 306's in the UK though that have had the V6 fitted in them

i admit it would be a tight squeeze but they must fit

the first one i saw was a light blue cab with the V6 shoe horned in there

now then the drive train must be ok as they seem to work alright in the 406 but as far as have the hair dryer on there as well would add to the fun factor

be interesting to see where they put the turbo though as there wouldn't be a lot of room left over in there

You're talking about the standard Clio Sport V6 - it's now been produced for the last 2 models of equivalent RCS.

Wouldn't that FWD V6 turbo make a mess of those front tyres?!!!!! Love the stealth approach though!!!

I emailed the vendor about this car 2 days ago, but have not had a reply.

Theres something not quite right. Ok, I know that the likes of Ecosse have slotted the 3.0 V6 ES9J4 into a couple of 306's before now, but I have never heard of a Turbo. To be honest, its a tight squeeze to get the 3.0 V6 under the hood in the first place, without the complication of trying to turbocharge the thing. And why are the wheels and tyres like that of a 1.4 if it has that sort of power?

The whole Ebay listing is scant on detail, its a first time seller, and the car just does not look like its been converted. There is no reason why the Police would build such a thing either, wrong car, wrong colour. I asked the vendor for some under bonnet pics, plus details of brakes and suspension nearly two days ago. Nothing.

You can supposedly fit the V6 in to a 205 if you want to take out the engine to change the spark plugs . It wouldnt be the easiest thing to do in the 306 either, but whats the point, it woudnt be 306 anymore with all that weight in the front...

why would the spark plugs be hard to get to ?

Very good point - 'coz on the V6 the spark plugs basically go in from "the top" not the rear like some other engines.

Still reckon it's a fake. It's hard enough to get around in the XM engine bay with a V6 in there besides trying to cram one into a 306. Unless of course they are talking about the rarely seen Tardis model .

Perhaps the vendor's name is Wayne. As in Wayne Kerr....

Oh ye of little faith; it turns out to be a car dealer who is selling it; ("Would I tell you a lie sir??")

One of the guys in the UK has had a call from him. Didn't say his name but sounds a bit like 'arry of Sitrun fame.

Read all about it; smile & enjoy.
Becoming an interesting topic on both sides of the world.
If it's for real; what a hoot of a car!! Hope it has a LSD though or you'd light it up at 100 MPH in top gear.
