Man charged with high-range drink-driving twice in three hours - Penrith area

    Friday, 05 September 2014 12:08:42 PM

A man will face court next month after allegedly being caught driving three times over the legal limit twice in the space of three hours overnight.

Just after midnight (Friday 5 September 2014), police stopped a Daihatsu Charade on Hall Street, St Marys and submitted the 26-year-old male driver to a roadside breath-test which proved positive.

He was arrested and taken to St Marys Police Station where a subsequent breath-analysis allegedly returned a reading of 0.229.

The St Clair man was given a Field Court Attendance Notice for high-range PCA and had his licence suspended, before being released from custody.

Just before 3am (Friday 5 September 2014), police stopped the same vehicle again on Mamre Road, near Banks Drive, at St Clair.

It’s alleged the same 26-year-old man was behind the wheel. He again failed a roadside breath-test and was arrested.

A second breath analysis at St Marys Police Station allegedly returned a reading of 0.207.

He was charged with high-range PCA and driving whilst suspended.

The man is due to appear before Penrith Local Court on Thursday 25 September 2014.

    G'day,
never mind. Think positive, have a piece of toast and a cup of coffee. That's what I had.
    regards,
    Les W.
