    Default Transmission slipping in 406

    HI,
    Vehicle is a Peugeot 406. 1997 model, V6 auto.
The vehicle seems to drive ok, but when pulled up at the lights the transmission seems to neutralise and won't engage to move off. If the ignition is turned off, wait momentarily and then turned back on the tranny seems to engage ok and works fine. The oil has been changed in the tranny, not real sure on the condition of the oil when it came out. I presume it was ok because the mechanic didn't say anything to the contrary.

270,000, Ive had a peruse of some of the forums and it looks like these are prone to failure, I just thought it was interesting that it goes after you turn the ignition off and on, maybe an electrical problem?
