Default Supercheap Auto Club pays off

About 12 months ago I sort of reluctantly joined Supercheap Club Auto (aka SCA) as I spend enough there to make it worthwhile and you get pre notice of specials etc. There is an SCA near work so that also helps.

A couple of their enticements were that your purchase records are always retrievable and therefore you don't need to keep your receipts. Something that proved useful with an item I bought last April and it recently failed. No probs - I could find my purchase details online and lodge a warranty claim.

Sunday before last we were on our way home from Cooma and going through Queanbeyan when I saw that their SCA was still open and I remembered that the C4 was in desperate need of new wiper blades. I zipped in and found the two correct blades and painfully handed over nearly $74! Ouch.

Anyway this last Saturday SCA had a 20% off storewide sale and I wondered if they would honour one of their other promises. That being "If an item goes on sale within 14 days of you purchasing an identical item in our store and registering the purchase at time of sale on your SCA membership - we will credit your account with the equivalent value" (paraphrase). Well, sure enough on Saturday night I got an email telling me that my account had been credited with $14.40!

    Cool!

I've been resisting joining up, this has probably convinced me to. My local SCA is the "Bogan Central" one at 2 Windsor Rd; the shared carpark is always entertaining.

I went a little sick at the Repco Aussie day sale. The tool trolley cabinet at 60% off or $157 to $62, I couldn't resist, and a under car (bed) trolley at half price $60 to $30 and some stands.

Best one of all at Repco was a +$700 MIG welder going for a bit over $200.00.
Clearance of old stock before arrival of new model.

I have a trade card with Super Cheap but most of the time I'm in town I'm wearing my Repco shirt so not prepared to go in there.

Repco routinely offer 10% off to holders of RACQ etc cards and Repco cards.
This can increase to 20% or 25% on selected weekends.
Clubs can apply for VIP card membership for their members which can be 15% off.

You have to keep your eyes open for special deals as they only advertise them for a short time.
Catalogues are emailed to both Repco Club and VIP members.

    End of commercial.

    Paul.

I'm usually only in Batt St when there, and that's technically Jamisontown.

I often find I have a few dollars credit on my Supercheap membership card, though I rarely know why. They have won my loyalty!

I am also very loyal to AutoOne for similar reasons. (and also Coles and Woolworths)

When the need arises and the offers are right I also avail myself of REPCO deals via the NRMA card.

I went to my closest store in Nuna but ended up at the third closest in Lilydale to get it, though I was told they can source one from anywhere in the country and have it freighted for free, so on ya bike if you want one.

I bought a battery for the 505 about a week ago, and joined the club. I got an email letting me know I've got ~$50 credit in store. You beauty!

I received an email today reminding me that the credit "points" I have from the rebate expire in a week. That was a great reminder so I can nip into the SCA near work and use the points and also the gift cards I got for bday and xmas. Just have to remember...
