    Default Convertible car hire

    Hi Froggers,

My wife and I will soon be celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary, and I'd really love to hire a convertible for our weekend away without the brats. Trouble is, the major hire car companies don't stock them in Canberra, and even if you hire in Sydney they are outrageously expensive.

Does anyone know of somewhere to rent a convertible in the Canberra area? Alternatively, does anyone have a 306 Cabriolet (or equivalent) in their garage in need of a leg stretch?

    Thanks

    Michael

There are a few classic car hire places around Sydney/Sth Highlands etc.
Could you stoop to driving around say an MGB?

A 2CV would be interesting over the Clyde!

Where are the rental place in the Southern Highlands? And yes, I would stoop to an MGB.

This is the one from Sydney I was thinking of:
    Sydney Classic Car Hire

I can't find the sthn highlands one, but I'm sure I've seen it advertised in Aust Classic Car mag or similar within the last 12 months.

Thanks for the link, there are some (ahem) interesting cars available. Bloody expensive though -- $680 too hire an MGB for the weekend!

That would include the Tilt Tray hire to get you home.
MGB is a TLA for Mobile Garbage Bin according to a local council near me. (I do like it when the work experience kid writes the copy.)

We're in Wagga Wagga and could be tempted to lend you our silver 306 cabriolet. Probably can't say 'hire' as that might invalidate insurance.

PM me if you want to talk about it.

    Cheers,
    Andrew
