    Default Chevrolet to quit Europe

Make what you can of this ?

GM were in trouble with Opel - overcapacity and overcompetition in Europe. They invested in PSA to merge resources and sort it out. It hasn't happened.
Meanwhile based on Daewoo products thay came into Europe directly under the Chevrolet brand.
Now they have decided to quit that in view of the overcrowded market and concentrate their European efforts on Opel (Vauxhall in the UK).

you have to marvel at the mentality of anyone within GM that the "chevrolet" brand would have any cred in Europe!

I think it would have had far more cred than Daewoo.

Our Daewoo Lasagne (Leganza) went ten years without fault, apart for a rear muffler replacement. It was roomy, comfortable, handled very well (especially on dirt), stopped on the proverbial dime and went reasonably hard. I'd back the Daewoo version against the Opel/Vauxhall anyday. People seem to have been re-writing history through ignorance again........

I do not know that there is anything wrong with these or any other contemporary cars as a car.
The issues are the economics of manufacture and brand imaging.

i.e; not the manufacture or manufacturer of the vehicle, but the manufacture of the image of the vehicle!
