Are they making it challenging this year? Something like finding a carpark near the best entrance door at Westfield Parramatta on the last shopping Saturday before Xmas? This driving through the desert without angry mothers in Kiddie Crushers getting in your way gets a bit boring

What a race it would be without GPS, support crews and radio! At least they are all going the same direction (or should be) which is a bit different from Warringah Mall or Westfield Parramatta.

Bring back the unlimited trucks I say. Nothing funnier then watching Der Rooy in the Turbo twin Daf catch and pass the Pug 405T16. Flat out.

GPS is immaterial to the Dakar Rally. If you start at Lima, Peru and enter the coordinates for Dakar (Senegal), you will find the Atlantic Ocean will stop you getting too far.

Its about time they renamed it - Da Kar, De Kar, De Car or better still call it the Red Hot Chilli Bean Rally, in deference to the start at Lima (a type of bean) and the end in Chile.
