    Default Progress at PSA

The share price of Peugeot SA has bottomed out and is now over 5 euros.

The deal with the Russians on logistics has been executed.

GM and PSA have at last announced some concrete projects for car platforms in common. There will be a compact people carrier to replace the 3008 and the Zafira, a smaller one to replace the DS3 Picasso and a replacement for the 208,C3 and Corsa, all to be released in 2016.
The C5/508/Insignia project has been shelved and the C5 replacement will stay a French project.
They are still discussing common models to help in expansion in growth markets but at the moment the only firm commitments are Eurocentric. A joint purchasing organisation is to be formed for Europe, subject to competition approval by the EU.

They are still hoping that some PSA cars will be made in Germany and Opels in France but there is a lot of political noise about the plant closures needed. In France the government has a last started the debate on increased flexibility in the labour market but the initial meeting between the employers and the Unions has gone nowhere, except to push it into next year.

The French state guarantee to help refinance the PSA bank is under review by the competition watchdogs in Brussels, no doubt prompted by the Germans.

The French vehicle market remains depressed and Europe as a whole is only a little better.

Join me in wishing them a more prosperous New Year!

They talk of not stopping the negative cash flow until the end of 2014.
