Default Bordeaux Aquitaine Classic Rallye 2012

Yesterday saw the start of this inaugural Rallye in the heart of Bordeaux. Some 170 cars registered for classic rallies took off for a time trial to the SW of the Bordeaux region. The organisers also invited clubs to show classic cars during the day and again today, Sunday.

I went with friends from local Clubs and showed the GS which, although prepared for this class of historic rallye, lacks a competent pilote and co-pilote. The day was cold and wet which made standing around chatting a little unpleasant and perhaps limited the turnout of display cars.
Here are some of the cars which I thought were out of the ordinary

Two suppliers of new cars had small displays - Skoda and Renault. Renault showed two examples of the new Clio, some of which are made in Turkey and some in France. At 20,000 euros it seemed to me a bit pricey in a hotly contested segment. The Renault Group offers much the same functionality in the restyled Logan at half the price. They also showed a couple of Twizy but didn't offer drives around the display.
