    Default peugeot 308 sat/nav

I have had a Peugeot 308 for 2 years. While I am extremely happy with the vehicle, at the last service, I asked for the sat/nav to be updated..

Shock...... I was quoted $920 for the upgrade..

Has anyone got a suggestion on other options or ?????

If that is for maps then it's ridiculous, but no different to other vehicle manufacturers.

If you need an ICE unit with sat nav/dvd/ etc ect look at this mob: http://www.erisin.com/page.html?id=74

They have an OZ warehouse so shipping is very cheap and warranty is local.

However you need to research if the replacement unit needs to interface into the car's CAN buss, ie does the existing radio have vehicle functions on the ICE controls. They also have CAN buss adaptors.

Seems a bit obvious (I agree), but at $35 a pop, buy yourself a new Melways every year for 26 years ... you'll know where you're going before you get lost!

I thought $189 for "lifetime" map upgrades on our Garmin GPS was expensive. Especially after someone at work a couple of weeks ago got a Garmin for $88 with free map upgrades

Go to Hardly Normals and buy a Garmin, we bought one reduced from $230 down to $160 with free lifetime upgrade of maps. Wish we had done it years ago. Forget the factory unless you have too much money !!
