The car is on Carsales now, and will be on Ebay soon - the description, discussion etc here is more detailed (warts & all), for a more knowledgeable audience who will understand the strengths and weaknesses of these cars a bit more than the average punter.

    Cheers,

    Dan

Section on the car's history added - 5 owners in total, two covering 34 years of the car's 40 years on the road!

Default Clarification - model and engine capacity

    Hi Steven,

Interesting point, and until a long discussion with an interested and knowledgeable party yesterday, and with another gentleman who came to look at the car today, I had never considered this in any detail. So, to clarify:

The RTA registration papers show the car as a DS2170A, and not being an expert on the various models of these cars, I have been mistakenly calling it a DSpecial21. However, it seems there is no such thing - it's either a DS21 or a D Special, apparently. So, this is a D Special with the 2L (1985cc) engine.

This is all in the history file with the car, which goes back to the original purchase/service book, and makes very interesting reading (well, for any D nut at least!)

    Cheers,

    Dan

I think there were RTA issues with classifications once uon a time?
You'd be better off advertising it as a DSpecial, which is what it is and leave the 21 well out of it.
    That might annoy people!
I suggest keeping it and becoming totally obsessed with it.
You won't know why you are but you won't question it either!

Haha - yes, I have considered shipping it overseas with me if I don't get a decent offer for it! But my wife might kill me...

I tried to change the title of this thread but too late now. Apologies all for any confusion, which I hope I have clarified.

The car will be outside our friend's cafe/restaurant in Redfern all day today - Patagonian Toothfish on Chalmers Street, just near Redfern Park. Anyone is welcome to come take a look!

    Cheers,

    Dan

Yes, it's been a lot of fun - slowly packing up and selling stuff over the next couple of months in preparation for the permanent move - I will be back and forth between HK and Aus until the family move over with me.

    Cheers, Dan
