    Default DS Rouge Mandarin

    Greetings all

I know you've heard it all before, but I think I've found my colour of choice for the DecidedlySpecial.... yeah yeah...suuuurre!

Well.. it started with this pic of an XM in Rouge Mandarin.. very lickable!

I then recalled a similar pic on Phillip Losson's site... do we have a match? Does anyone have some whipped cream?

Now look at my Bordeaux beauty...if you blur your vision..huh?? Indulge me..

    Leave it with me.

I was only commenting to Mort the other day that I had been thinking of altering the colour of June to deep aubergine over burgandy....

This at least lets me see what she may look like and I think a '74 DS23 Pallas would look FABULOUS made up like that...

The colour looks great. I've thought my DS would look good done in the burgundy - when (if) I ever have enough money

I saw 2 types actually a Mandarine AC437 non metallic 1977 and a Rouge mandarin "EJV" Metallic 1989. Couldn't get a picture of the Mandarine though!

I don' know if this is the same colour, but it is rich.

As a collector of things, this is the most expensive example I've seen.

The more I study these colours the more I learn.. I'll know all the Citroen colour codes soon.! Here's a Pluriel Charleston.. in Rouge Delage....the original colour used for the 2CV it celebrates.. if I paint the DecidedlySpecial this colour I get to say "rouge delagggge" in my best oozing French accent!

Rouge Delage (GKA or EKA) in a solid i.e. non-metallic colour is the red used for the plums and custard 2CV dollies.

    Hi John

yes, correct of course. I thought perhaps they had pinched the name Delage as part of the 08 treatment of the C3... however on further investigation on other sites I've learnt the metallic/pearlescent?? colour used for the C3 Charleston is actually Rouge Burlat.

A nice colour either way... similar to the Rouge Mandarin that started this thread... doesn't quite have the same ring as delaggggge though...."Boorla". My apologies for infecting this thread with C3 pics.

Matthew, it's all about the colours...

Personally, I've fallen for the DSpecial with the black roof over that beautifully retro metallic burgandy that you posted.....

If we can identify that particular paint code, I'd be very happy......then all I have to do is source a nice deep aubergine for the roof....

Yes... unfortunately Phillipe describes it as Rouge Metal on his site... there is another DS in the same colour in his archives which is described as Bordeaux Metalise... which could just be poetic licence..

    Dare to dream..
