    Icon12 "Worldwide new cars" CitroŽn C4L and C-Elysťe !!

    Hi,

This week CitroŽn unveiled pics and infos about two new models that will be sold mainly outside western Europe(especially China, Russia, central Europe, Turkey, northern Africa, southern America...)

    These cars are:

C4L, designed in China, "luxury" sedan version of the current C4II, that will also be built in Kaluga, Russia, for the local market

C-Elysťe, is the "sister" of the Peugeot 301(see thread in the Peugeot area of the forum), built in Vigo, Spain, and that will be distributed to mediteranean eurocountries(Spain, Portugal, Greece), Turkey, China and northern Africa(maybe also Russia and southern America??)

"The new VTi 135 unit (1.8 16V with 136 bhp), equipped with a 5-speed manual or 6-speed auto/sequential gearbox. This new "core range" powerplant, launched with the CitroŽn C4 L, is available in China."

    What is this engine ?!
It can't be their old 1.8, right ?

Excellent question. PSA don't currently use a 1.8 petrol motor in any of their current models. As this is for a Chinese-only model, I wonder which one they are using?

Perhaps it will be an Opel/GM motor?

I like the look of the C4L - it looks like a smaller current C5.

Asia is a big market for PSA, with well over 300,000 cars per year built and sold. That makes Aussie sales of all PSA products pale into insignificance.
