    Default Deceased estate CX

We have a deceased estate CX 2500 IE coming up.

Automatic, was running until the owner got to sick to drive (about 7 months) should start with a fresh battery.
Cars isn't all that good, scrapes and bumps all over it, seats are nice but.

We're not really interested in it, CX wrecking days are long gone but it has to be cleared by tomorrow (Thursday) we just want to save it from the crusher. Any interest give me a yell, it'll be cheap, $500 to cover our towing and storage costs is all it'll cost otherwise it'll be another CX gone for ever.

I'll need to be down in Melbourne to pick up the 407 next week. If it's not rusty I think it can find a home in Ballarat Is it an 8seater ?

If it's not rusty, at least I can find a new owner for it if I have no use for it! If someone else grabs it .... call me and we'll talk gearboxes.

It could be an 8 seater but legally its only 5. Its not a wagon. Its deceased estate. Not estate car, its only a sedan, still interested?

Why do I want to talk gearboxes?

Oh man, I gotta learn how to read ... I glanced at that I read CX estate with a deceased gearbox

If it ends up with the crushers 'cos no-one gets there by tomorrow (yes I missed that bit too), whip the flywheel sensors, coils, AFM and ECU's off it, you may make a few hundred from them and it's only 5minutes work to pull them.

Thats happened twice today. Got an email this morning from a guy who just picked up a deceased estate BX19GT and Chris reading over my shoulder says "Did they make a 19GT estate?"

Problem with CX's is we'd die with them, I can't remember the last call we had and that stuff would sit there forever and possibly end up in the tip anyway.
I might get it delivered here to buy some time and if no one wants it we will pull off a few bits and crush the rest.

You have the usual problem, the time involved to pull any usable parts off (that will likely never sell) will outweight any effort. If it arrives with a good set of door trims, seats and steering wheel. You have a bloody bidding auction of people across the world begging you for them (good luck with that).

If it's a series II car when it arrives, consider it sold site unseen

No its not series 2. I had a look last night, its in Sunbury so we called in on the way home, just a normal Aussie delivered CX 2500 with full auto and injection. Nothing special. It maybe fairly low kms because the seats didn't appear that worn but other than that its pretty boring.

Theres no reg. It does have SA plates and the lady with it (his daughter) says he drove it across often.
When he got sick and moved in with her they trucked it over and drove it off the truck into the back yard without a problem.

The only worry is we all know what happens to Cits after the have been siting awhile.

Remember guys ... if someone rescues this, it's eligable for limited use and a club permit.... For $66bucks a year you could be cruising the roads in what is possibly the "ultimate" CX that was locally delivered (if your someone that doesn't like swapping cogs yourself).

I mostly prefer manual gearboxes, but in a CX, the clutch is sooooo heavy, it's a chore!

Gee's smiffy, there so close, Dave could almost push it there without having to drive it

Funny I find my CX's clutch so light, i could depress it with a finger. The 407 clutch is considerably heavier and has 4 times the throw.

but the 407 isn't going to leave you at the side of the road in a green river but at least when you get the tow bar on it you can use it to tow the CX back home again

Sorry but I did the deal with Dave last week. in big trouble at home
Saw the car for the first time 10 minutes ago - very rough with a pretty much stuffed interior.
Still, it should clean up ok - with lots of work.
will put up a few photos in the weeks ahead.

    Its all over guys.

I delivered it to John's (citmad) place last night. I was impressed by the way it drove, mechanically it couldn't be faulted. not even an oil stain on the driveway where it sat for 7 months. I forgotten what a wonderful cruiser CX's were.

John, I got to Woodend before I realised I'd forgotten to check the water but I kept an eye on the temp gauge and it didn't move once it warmed up so there must be something in there.
