Default C2 Key Case Change - Immobilised

    Hi all,
    Looking for some advice.

Buttons on one of the keys for my 2004 C2 VTR wore through. Key has been working with some tape wrapped around it. Purchased a new key case from the UK. Swapped key and internals into the new case this morning. The remote will open and lock doors, key will turn engine over but not start the car. Luckily I have a second key/remote which is operating OK.

I have tried to reinitialise the key as per the manual. Lock car, open with key, put key in and turn ignition on and press a button on the key within 10 seconds. But, this is having no effect.

Any suggestions from the forum on how I can get this key to work again?

    Thanks,

    Problem Fixed,
    (but sadly not my eyesight)

After mucking about with the old key casing, I discovered that I had only transferred the green electronic board out of the old key and not the little grey (I assume, transponder) unit as well. Being the same colour as the casing it was a little difficult for these old eyes to pick that one up.

With BOTH internal components in the new case it is working as it should.

    Cheers,

Hi, I was going to suggest you had missed the transponder chip. You were lucky you can shift it over to the new case so easily.

    Cheers,
