    Default BX Ignition

Or by it's second title, my new 2cyl, 8 valve BX.

In short, I got the 16valve back from major heart surgery last week and it's been running sweet as a nut. All of a sudden it lost power, then stalled as I was pulling off the road. No nasty mechanical noises - it sounds like it's dropped 2 cylinders (I know for a fact that it'll run - badly - on 3) as it cranks poorly and if it does start, it struggles to break 500 RPM. I suspect the electronics, however until the weekend I don't have time to take a look.

Any idea as to what can cause at least 2/3 cylinders to stop functioning simultaneously?

Problem solved - the rotor button inside the dizzy cap unscrewed itself (!) from the camshaft

Hi, I am glad it was that simple. With only having one coil, I was thinking it must be something to do with spark distrubution.

    Cheers,
