Default Purflux oil filters in Oz?

Hi wondering if someone could point Leconte and I in the right direction in Oz for Purflux oil filters (navy blue?), sump washers, sump plugs, Oil filter removal tool, C Matic transmission oil. Melbourne would be great but interstate ok as well as can always have parts posted.

Hoping to use these next weekend so initial items will have to be local. What's the general view of AFers re local availability parts versus buying online from UK or Europe. Are there local parts stockists we should support. Or has the horse bolted and group buys, networking on parts and postage the way to go?

    Thanks
    John

French connection. There out at airport west. He's a sponsor on this site too ( His details should be in the sticky thread at the top of this forum).

Daniel Engelhardt in Germany is a GS parts supplier I always use. He'll have just about anything on the shelf. Tell him I sent you. His website http://www.franzoesischeklassiker.de/?lang=EN will supply you with hours of fun. DS Motors in Brisbane have Purflux stuff available as well. As for Melbourne, I'm clueless!

I just order in bulk and forget that one bit I really need for the next shipment!

    Hope this helps out.

Castrol Automatic TQF is what the forum members recommended for my CX2400 C-Matic.

Thanks guys.... will head over to the "French Connection" for the filter, Gerry thanks for the tip on transmission oil, Donat with Germany. I know what you mean putting an order together. There's a certain economy of scale :-)

(EAI is slightly closer on the ground but they don't stock any GS filters, nor by the look of it anything DS, BX, CX. Asked them about GS. The rest of the Citroen stuff on the website is all late model)

At the risk of being a "newbie" will any old generic oil filter remover work on the GS. Dave @ FC does not stock these.

    Thanks John

You should be able to use any oil filter removed on a GS as the filters is sitting on top staring you in the face Just make sure it contracts small enough.

It's probably worth ringing Dave or sending him a message to verify he has filters in stock before driving there.

    Hi Shane
Spoke with Dave and yes he has. But no GS wrecks "haven't had a GS for years". Service wise Paris Motors Richmond mentioned they hadn't seen a GS "for years"

Guess not as commonplace as once were. Did my bit for GS spotters today in peak hour traffic from Kew to Eltham. Quite like 2nd in the C Matic, like in one of the GS brochures, it's quite handy for taking off on the flat. 1st handy in the heavier stuff

I get mine from Continentals at Punchbowl. My thought is any dealer would have them or should have them. Luckily Citroen has some wisdom as except for the D all Citroens that have one take the same oil filter, if I am not mistaken.

I thought the GS was different, I'm likely wrong though I know the CX's, BX's and Xantias all share the same filter though (at least the versions I've owned have).

No they don't. GS are smaller, LS450A on the GS has a smaller thread size than the LS867B used on CX,BX,Xantia etc.

And yes I do have some in stock.
