    Default Buggered BX

There's been a BX on the Calder freeway inbound between Diggere Rest and Calder Raceway since last Saturday morning.

Its an early series 1 but a bit hard to read if its a 19GT or a TRS when driving past at 100kph. It does still have plates.

    Anyone here?

Default Potential set of ratrod hydraulics?

I can't see anyone on frogs have a car die there and not scream for help.

Someone will no doubt scrape it up and scrap it.

    Pity.

Its still there (Thursday morn) slowed down for a closer look today and its actually a series 2 TRI. Must have the early model taillights that threw me the other day. But yes, series 2 TRi.
    Still has plates.
Its illegal to just scrape it up and scrap it (thats stealing)

I think you are allowed to steal a BX.

I have a series 2 BX clock in stock. Been there a few years now. Actually the car was only 10 years old when it was put in stock so there's a good chance it was working then.

Hi Dave-That must be either an old stock clock or an old stock stock clock -or could even be both.
A dual fuel clock no less.

All the older clocks are mechanical or electro-mechanical. All mechanical clocks need servicing eventually and the CX ones, or is it DS ones, have a very small balance wheel shaft that can break if the clock is dropped.

Tandy Instruments in Perth (George) is VERY knowledgeable and good at repairing auto clocks and instruments. I can't recommend him highly enough. http://www.tandyinstruments.com.au/ He'll build one out of two or more to get the right bits that aren't broken. Speedos, oil rig pressure guages, windup 8-day car clocks etc are all grist to his mill.

    Cheers

Not if you've got the towing contract to keep that bit of road clear. I took possession of the NSU Ro80 as an abandoned vehicle with police approval. Tedious, but necessary.

I didn't know that - thanks Bruce! Some just abandoned an Ro80? Wow. One of my all time favourite designs. I had to step back from buying a fairly good one this last year. Case of "what to sell to make space" and moral headroom at home of course.

Another aside, for which David may forgive us. What is an Aubisque? I'm sure it isn't eggplant soup.

I have a 2CV that has a clock that works. The two cylinders go tick, tock, tick, tock and the time goes slowly.

Peugeot Aubisque is my 2 wheeled, 2 leg powered vehicle! I've got some photos loaded up somewhere!

Keep us updated on this BX; might be a good timing for whoever picks up that red BX on ebay!

Really? I've never heard of that. Maybe it doesn't apply down here. I've asked a few times about this and I keep getting told that an abbandend vehicle is council property and will be put up for auction. Problem is no one knows when or where.
