Default DS23 Safari and Malcolm Howard

I have finally made the move to a pumping Citroen. I have owned a 2cv for around 12 years now, have owned a number of Pugs and Renaults, and always monitored French cars. The final straw for my wife was when I decided to buy a caravan; she went in to overdrive to scuttle those plans, went online and found a very nice DS for sale, and decided we would buy it! I was flabbergasted. The rest, as they say, is history; we are now the proud owners of a DS 23 Safari. No doubt I will need to pick brains here in the near(?) future.

Unfortunately I will need to sell the 2cv soon. It had considerable work done on it by a great guy and master restorer, Malcolm Howard of Toowoomba, who regrettably passed on only recently. Iím sure Malcolm would approve the move to the DS. Not sure if any Aussiefroggers knew Malcolm but he loved old intersting cars of various marques and he had a special place for French cars, and Citroens in particular. He had a wicked sense of humour and a great disposition despite his illness. I always regretted not buying a beautiful Light 15 lovingly restored by him. I miss our occasional chats.

    Default Caravans....

It sounds like someone has decided that motels are more comfortable than caravans. I sympathise. Last van was renovated with an axe...

    Congrats! Photos are in order.

I always say that a caravan and its resultant fuel costs add up to a bloody lot of motel rooms.

Deb and I used to like to stay in van park cabins. Have you seen the price of those these days?!?!?!

Tweed heads, Easter Saturday, one night in a van park cabin: $280.

Actually we bought the car partly to camp in. Did that last weekend on the first outing and it was fantastic. There has to be close to 7'6'' length inside. Sleeping in a lovely piece of art. So much fun in so many ways. All I have at present is one measly jpeg. More to follow...
