    Default DS3 Story

I dont know if you recall but we purchaed a new DS3 in November 2011. At that time we were not advised of the DS4 coming top Australia in March 2012. Anyhow 8 weeks ago my wife was driving her car home and had to swerve to miss a kid on a skate board and went into the kerb. She hobled home and the damage was underside and there was no panel damage. The wheel was on the lean and rim marked steer whell off line and the EC light flashing like a christmas tree. I contact insurance and put it back in to the dealer for repair.
Cost to repair $7000.00 and approx 6 to 8 weeks.
No parts in Australia I was told all form France. The service guy ordered the parts on Citroen but forgot to mark the order RV meaning vehicle not drivable. If he had of done that in the first place aprts would gave been flown. My parts were shipped hence the 8 weeks. Next is the Bridgestone tyres on the car are no longer available in Australia so I could not get a replacement tyre as mine was cut on the kerb. That tyre is values at $420.00 each. So I had to take a Kumo, I was not happy with the one change so I made them at least change the 2 tyres so I have matching tyres on each axle. That reminds me I should get my other Bridgestine tyre back, anyhow after all that we picked the car up last week. All is perfect but what a fiasco. Apparently they repalced all parts in the front end as a safety issue. Meantime we received a letter from Citroen advising us there is a recall on DS3's due to a battery earth lead. I rnag the dealer and they were unaware and guess what didnt have them in stock. So now when they get them in thye will fit a new lead.

Did I give them a serve, you support the brand in a market that is mainly Holden Ford no wonder people shy away, I consider the service absolute crap and no wonder they struggle. Would I buy another Citroen YES they are a very good smart looking car
People love to look and ask about the car it turns heads.

For what its worth I visited Costco in Canberra the other week. They stock only 2 brands of tyre - Bridgestone and Michelin. They were selling Michelin Energy XM2s (205/55R16) for $183 each (last week's special was extra $50 off if you bought 4, so they worked out at a tad over $170 each). Fitter said to keep eye on website because they had specials every month.

Not just here that it happens - I've read a couple of comments on the DS3 UK forums about owners finding their service agent didn't have parts in stock for that recall, even when that was what the car had been booked in for. Strangely that recall notice hasn't made it to me, but I did hear it was only certain VINs, so maybe mine escaped it.
Hope you have better service in future.

As for the repair, I'd argue black and blue before accepting a Kumho as a replacement for an RE050A. Why not the direct replacement S001? There are so many brands I'd choose over a Kumho it doesn't bear thinking about.

When replacing my 207's tyres last year (same tyres as the DS3) I couldn't get a single Bridgestone dealer to sell me an RE050A - even telling me that "We don't make them anymore" and "We can't sell you the replacement as it's not due out here for at least three months".

My local tyre place (Trivett Tyres) had no problems getting me some and I had them fitted that afternoon.

I was pretty unimpressed with the "official" Bridgestone supply chain.
    Regards,

    Simon

This is the press release from Bridgestone regarding the DS3.
Effectively Citroen themselves are only fitting Bridgestone and Michelin and then only Bridgestone for the hot versions of the DS3.
    .................................................. .................................................. ...........................................
