    Default DS bleu platine

    Hello all

I'm stuck at home on stand by duites for the next 7 weeks so what better to do with the time than look at DSs right?!

As you would have picked up by now I have a fetich for the colour red.. I think Wally sent in a pic recently of a gorgeous DS in Bleu Platine.. beeeeeuutsshhifulll colour! Now... being french I was wondering if they ever did a bleu/rouge colour combination and low and behold .. yes they did!

So I have attached a few pics.. first is 1957 Bleu Torquoise with Rouille interior..
    Second is 1967 Bleu D'Orient/rouge
Third is also 1967 Bleu Monte Carlo/rouge
and fourth is Bleu Platine with a white roof.. black interior though as was not offered with rouge interior for that year.

So.. my question is ...wadda ya think?? While it wouldn't be strickly correct, do you think you could get away with Bleu Platine and a rouge upholstery?

    Just curious.. don't hold back.

    Matthew

Maybe my Bleu fixation is a reflection of my current mood.. god I hate standby!! ugh!

PPS Just found a few more on similar theme..

Not a good combo IMO. A bit too "look at me".

Blue and green should never be see without a colour in between!

Hi Mathew and welcome back from your Espana hoiday. I like picture number 7,that shade of blue with the same colour roof is very nice, not too brash but also not too bland. My DS 23 Pallas was originally Gris Nacre with the same colour roof, the interior is that dark rouge velvet, but the second owner decided to respray the car Bleu D'orient, with a white roof. Initially I was not happy that he had done this, but now I am used to this dark blue/white roof, and the interior is still the dark rouge velvet. I think that as Shane pointed out, dark colours suit the DS,because they hide the panel gaps and also they highlight the curves of the sublime design. Just my opinion, and sorry to know that you are stuck home on standby duties,a real bummer. Cheers Joe

Strangely, I find myself drawn to the colour in pic 7 too.

I've got the blue and red theme happening.

    Cheers,
    Michael

Michael, the color you and Phillipe painted your cars looks fantastic on the sedans, but I think a wagon would be better suited in either pics 1 or 5.
The measure of your character isn't what you do when people are watching- it's what you do when they aren't watching.

    One of my favourite colours.
Looks right on last front with push button door handles. The bleu platine I mean, although a pallas only colour.

    A 1970 only color.
This one is for sale. Mechanically fresh and has A/C.

That one in the Citroen showroom (first 2 pics) - Im sure that was in Church St Richmond a few years ago - was responsible for re-activating my interest in Ds and eventually taking the plunge to acquire one !!

    Thanks for the memory..

yes .... Bleu platine, not to be confused with "Camry turquoise" like the DS 21 from the Continental guys in Sydney!

The bleu platine seems darker on my colour swatch set http://www.flickr.com/photos/frontdrive34/2734024309/
