    Default C3 sunroof woes.

Afternoon all, I discovered this week that the Panoramique sunroof in my wife's Citroen C3 isn't working. It was working over the last few months but has stopped at some point. I pulled the fuse and it looks intact. I changed it anyway and still no joy. There is no sound coming from the roof and its as though there is no power getting to the motor. Has any one got any suggestions on what might be causing this and how I might go about sorting it out before I haul it off to a mechanics?

    Thanks

You could try operating the switch in the close direction for a few seconds and see if it resets itself. Other than that I can't think of an easy fix.

I once had a C4 Picasso where the electric blind failed and that was the fix, but it's obviously not exactly the same thing.

See a dealer or Citroen specialist rather than some random mechanic.
There may be a key in the tool kit to operate it manually, but it's probably jammed due to debris, lack of lubrication and possibly some bits of broken plastic from the guides on the sides of the glass carriage, visible when it's open. If there are bits of plastic flapping about, it's best to remove them. Just don't force anything.

    Hi Simon

It's a new blind so shoudl be ok. I have monkeyed about with the switch but to no avail.

    Thanks anyway.

    Thanks for that.
Yes, it's a given with french cars that one should not just take it to the local K-Mart auto!
As far as the state of the sunroof it has been apart recently and is in very good order with no broken bits and pieces.
If it were something like that I would expect their to be some noise of the sunroof motor trying to break free but there is no noise or movement at all. It is like trying to open the sunroof with the ignition switched off.

    Thanks anyway

A dealer will know how to fix it or try a French auto mechanic that knows French cars.

Crazy question JW: have you tried pushing the rotary dial in? It seems to be some sort of master reset, which I discovered by accident a few days ago when cleaning a blocked drain channel.
Just a wild thought. Good luck with the fix.

    You're a genius Michael!
I pushed the dial in and twisted it and lo and behold it works.
I bet you just saved me a packet at a reputable french car workshop.
    Thanks very much mate
