hi Lisemare ... it does sound like a lot ... e.g. on ebay this (Australian) listing has "IGNITION COIL PACK CITROEN C3 C4 XSARA PEUGEOT 206 307 NFU KFV 1.4L1.6L 2526182A" for $220. (There are cheaper UK listings).

    See... http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/IGNITION-...-/200670101941

I guess a dealer will have a mark up on their parts, and there is also the problem of getting the right coil pack for your car (which can be done by using the Citroen parts locator for the cars VIN) - and finally finding a mechanic that will fit the parts for you if you've sourced them yourself (and foregoing their mark up).

    cheers Simon

I think what you should do is give DS Motors a call. They're in Red Hill. The difference between them and dealer-based mechanics is that they actually care about CitroŽns and they're not forced into working on them as a means of putting food on the table.

Don't allow yourself to get burned by outrageous prices and the service agents who pull them out of thin air.

Thats sounds right for dealer list price. I can't remember the exact price but I know its up there somewhere.

We probably have good second hand for 1/4 of that price.

I would take great pleasure in telling these scum sucking bottom feeders where to go and stick it.....

Buy from overseas and sooner or later they will get the message.

I am all in favour of supporting local retailers but gouging is not on, and should be stomped on with great vigor.

    Thanks everyone .*

I normally go to Alec at Chevron in Brisbane . But now live on the Gold Coast and obviously can't drive the car to Brisbane now . I will call Alec and John from DS and see if it's all round cheaper to tow to Brisbane .*

Not sure if I trust the dealer now to fit a part I source cheaper . Perhaps I should negotiate and say sure , but for that price I want the car service and fuel and air filters changed , oh and a new rear brake light .*

source the part yourself...just quote the VIN/chassis number so you get the right part...
Easy to fit....less than 10 mins I'd guess...

Lisemare, source the coil pack yourself from Ebay & get your local auto electrician to fit it. The job is not rocket science. Then you can drive the car to where ever for it's routine service.
