    Default BX 16Valve Appreciation Thread

For all those who hold a secret desire for one! Don't worry, I wont tell.

I just wanted to share what I think are some nice pictures with you all. I'll probably be the only one posting but that's okay!
    Enjoy!

I definitely agree that it is a fantastic little car. I absolutely loved my S2 16 Valve, although at times it seemed it was riddled with bad luck. On two separate occasions while stationary at red lights it was rear ended causing various amounts of damage to the rear bumper, boot floor and quarter panel. This was all fixed only for me to sadly finish the poor girl off after meeting some banked up traffic over a crest.

Until it met an untimely demise, of which I am sadly completely at fault, in the time I had her she did quite a lot of travelling including from Melbourne to Parkes and back in a weekend just to see the dish and then a run inland from Melbourne to Bundaberg and then following the coastal road back down south again. Not to mention numerous camping trips and some spirited drives around some of the greatest roads in Victoria if not Australia (or even the world).

I even had a 10.5" LCD fold down monitor mounted behind the sunrood so rear seat passengers could watch DVD's or even play the XBox! Definitely much fun.

Anyways, heres a couple of photos of the old girl.

    Default My BX16v

    I like my BX16v.
I have had some great fun drives over the years. Now it is my sunny Sunday car - and a spare when the son visits - so it feels even better after driving the C5HDI most days.
I have most of the bits I need for an engine "refresh" including the euro hi comp pistons, overhauled head, and many other new parts. I just have to find the time to remove the engine and do the work. But it is still running very well, so I am in no rush.
    Cheers
    Michael

I have to say, I didn't get on that well with mine, I guess I'm not a fan of screaming engines!!!

What I will say, is they are wicked fast, if you are a hoon with a right foot made of lead!

Great to see a positive reaction to this. I'll have to take some nice pictures of my car to pop in here at some stage. Please continue sharing yours and others!

I am surprised. none of the BX experts have made comment about the 4wd versions..are any of the Euro Sport models ( the red white and black ones above ) the all wheel drive versions / I have looked closely and can't decide if I see rear drive shafts....the rear wheels look fat enough to be driven wheels.

Back in 1987 one was brought into our garage for it's routine new car service because we were an authorized Citroen dealer here in the USA. We were obliged to keep it overnight. Needless to say, I appreciate these little things and wish I could have one.

I suppose this is an apropriate place to put this...

This pic was taken some considerable time ago now, April 2006! I think in the Sutherland or Royal National Park area (my memory isn't that good...)

Don't suppose anyone knows who's car this is?

    Good point!
This one below is the BX supertourisme. 380 bhp T16 4wd. Very cool.

Rear Diff in the photo below.

These ones are just Portuguese race versions, A bit like the Bathurst cars I think.

This one is from the Finland.
BX 4wd with phase II 16V body kit and D6C engine, up-rated transfer box axles.
Would be fun in the snow!

Another interesting one from the UK. Rotrex supercharger, GTi6 gearbox.

This thread is so unfair. I've been wanting one of these for years. 16v, 4wd, and in a Break.

I thought the 4x4 BX's had a stupidly weak transfer case???

Sure do! Hence that red one has updated axels. It's still broken a few times. I'll stick with front wheel drive BX's. Shame we didn't get the 4x4 in Aus though. Are the mi16x4 cases stronger?

I remember fondly the advert for this in the 80's and distinctly remember asking my dad what the hell does "16 valve" mean and "Atout" as a 9 yo

Steeley in Maleny,QLD is selling a BX 16v for asking price of $5000. He's got two of them (read and white) and one has to go.
