Default Performance chip for 1.6 hdi

Has any one put a aftermarket performance chip in a C4 my2010 with the 1.6 Hdi and egs gearbox?

    Hi,

I am not sure what Citroen Australia will think about engine related warranty claims after the ECU has been chipped - Its more of a software download these days anyway. I think most 'ķpgrades' for HDI diesels would just push the smoke limit up a bit more and make the turbo work a bit harder. This would mean more combustion pressure and more load on the head gasket I would think.

Quite a few of the HDI engines already have an overboost programmed in as this allows them to work the turbo a bit harder when the conditions are right. I seem to get unbelievable amounts of torque going up hills in 6th gear in my C5 wagon at bang on 2000 rpm.

    Cheers,

    Ken W

The 1.6 should already be 260Nm on overboost. Quite incredible given it's weeny 1.6litre capacity (infact it's as much as the much larger 12valve 2.1TD engine produces in the XM).

The 1.6 HDi is easily capable of 170km/h. I probably could have gone faster but the wash from trucks only doing 90 while you zoom past at 170 is a bit unsettling and the noise from my right side was getting annoying.
