Default 03 C5 HDi Trip computer malfunction

    Hi all,
The display on my trip computer can only display the date and time and other vital information but doesn't show other information such as distance, milage and fuel consumpton no matter how I pressed the stalk. I've tried to disconnect the battery and check all fusses but still can remedy the problem.
Any one can give me a cue to fix this problem will be much appreciated.

It's the button on the end of the stalk most likely. You either try to repair it, which will be a fiddle, or buy an entire new Comm unit (all the controls behind the steering wheel as an integrated unit). Another way out of it is to get a used comm or even just the stalk, but there are different types of comm unit and everyone else will have the same fault and be seeking the same parts.

On that model C5, you can pull the end off the stalk and dismantle it, but you will probably find the ring contact at the very end is broken. You could repair it with solder if you are inventive, but it's probably better to either live with it or replace the stalk/comm.

    Hi All,
Yes, the outer button was taken out and found the small pin was broken that cannot touch the contact to function. I'l try to fix this problem and will post the result later on.
    Have a good one.

You can use the buttons on the left and right of the electronic scoreboard to cycle through the options too.

    Hi all,
I fixed the problem by dismantal the switch at the end of the stalk, not the small pin being broken but the contact, I soldered a small piece of metal to the ring and put the whole thing back and now the switch is functioning properly.
    Have a good one.

    Default Trip computer not functioning

Just drove from Bathurst to Melbourne and the trip computer has decided not to function. C5 2003. Can not get it to work via the left and right buttons next to the screen nor the button on the end of the stalk. At first I could get it to change from range left to the date via the buttons ( not the stalk ) but after disconnecting the battery for a reset I can not get it to move off the date at all.

When you had your problem could you use the buttons to change the display?
