My favourite Citroen! I found these pics tucked away in a corner of my harddrive reserved for non-Pug pics.

I loved the two GS 1220 wagons I had. The second was the better car. I loved it had alloys too!

Here's my dear departed old girl. Owned it from 1978 to the mid '80s then sold it when we lived in Bulleen to a guy from the Latrobe Valley. We met mid way in Warragul to do the exchange. Coincidently it was across the road from where I now sit.

This was my second GS. I've no idea what happened to it.

My first GS was in Singapore in the mid to late '70s. Alas, when the time came to replace it, it was worth more to the government's car scrapping scheme than it was to another owner. I did however get some useful spares from it to ship home for the other car.

After 12 years since my first GS, I still from time to time (like today) reach for the non-existant 5th gear! Do other GS owners (with 4 speed gearboxes) do this?

This rare automobile is one of the very few 1973 GS Citroens left in the world and will need restoration. 82,695 miles on the odometer. Front end - both Headlights and grill are included along with Shop & Owners manual & a stack of literature on the car. We were the second owners drove it occasionally until 1990 and put it into storage where the mice unfortunately had a feast. It has a propane conversion in addition to the regular fuel system. $2000 OBO

Very much reminds me of my first GS after the transmission decided to break up, leaving me with just first and reverse.

That wagon, for 3300 quid plus shipping would be a by far and away better bet than this poor lump.

Yes, I still occasionally reach for the non-existent 5th gear - I'll have to refit my 5 speed box to something.

And I agree with Donat, many Aussie GSs look like that - most our cars have been used and used, unlike many remaining examples in Europe that often seem to have been in storage for years if not decades.

If you had a few extra bob you could buy my 1220 club safari and do it up to match. Mine hasn't had the headrests nicked like the UK one tho...

There's not a lot of a GS, so perhape more of us need to learn how to rub back, prep and paint cars?

I do - but blame it on habit, as all the other cars I drive have a 5th gear.

O'yea... that UK break is a beauty. Probably close to a world-record one-owner rarety.
It beats my 1972. But still, every day, through 37 years. It fancy me.

    Hi
This GS break is very similar to one we had in the 80s/90s. Our's was perhaps a liitle darker in colour but just as pretty. I think the GS was the prettiest car car in the Citroen stable and the station waggon version the best execution. A much loved and remembered fun car.

That car had dodgy syncro on second and I and my wife double shuffled it in for its life with us. I found myself doing that for years after when I reached for second in other cars.
