    Default BX16TRS Automatic Tranmission

I'm having a problem with the automatic transmission kick down adjustment on my 1985 BX 16TRS automatic. When changing up from 1st to 2nd its ok then from 2nd to 3rd seems to be very smooth without feeling the change, 3rd to 4th is ok, a bit firm (change from 3rd to 4th is at approximately 70 kmph. However when shifting down takes place, 4th down to 3rd is ok, 3rd down to 2nd ok but sometimes
from 2nd to 1st the car will shudder as though she is going to stall, which tells me to put it into neutral.

Can anyone assist with some information to adjust the 'kick down' for the transmission properly?

    Rod,

sticking in gear on downshifts is a characteristic of incorrect oil. What are you using?

Like I told you..it is down to the the linkages and possibly transmission filters...I had 99% no problems with this beautiful transmission over 4 years running...

Suggest you check your Car-ma (karma) ...

    regards
