    Default New C5 Comfort seems awfully cheap

    Have you noticed the special on new (2010 stock) C5 Comforts. Yesterday they reduced drive-away price from $46990 to $41990 drive away.

    Must be a shipment of 2011 stock about to arrive.

    Saw a dark Current C5 this morning in Hornsby. Looked great on the road.

    2.0L Turbo diesel, 6 speed automatic, 17' alloy wheeled Citroen C5 Comforts advertiised in Melbourne @ 41990 driveaway. 2010 models non metallic paint only. Flick forward a few pages and you have Zagame offering 2 demonstrators for $45,990 "a saving of $9270. One black one, one red one, both metallic.

    Personally like the C5 in white. 41990 today that means in 2013 second hand in the low 20s? Nice

    Apparently black cars are over-represented in crash statistics with the belief that they are hard to see. Some research a while ago suggested it was the personality of the car drivers and not the colour. It went something like this:

    Black = aggressive outsider
    Silver = cool and aloof
    Beige = calm and in control (if I recall, blue and white colours fitted closely to this category)

    Might have to get the spray can onto my black car. Interestingly, just helped my mother in law seek a new car and I was staggered at the boring car colour offerings. Something akin to Henry Ford - you can have any colour you like as long as its black (or silver).

    '74 Renault TS , '69 Renault TS - last seen forlorn at Taminda wreckers

    Once again, Ateco/Citroen Australia are guaranteeing high depreciation rates for C5s by this pricing policy - I do understand that they are 2010 builds but perhaps they should not be carrying large stocks of these niche vehicles in Australia hoping to sell them! I bought my wife's Skoda Superb wagon through a dealer but the main apparent difference is that VW/Skoda rely more on supply chain (ie build to order) efficiency than just importing a truckload of cars hoping to sell them. The import of a batch of petrol C5s last year seemed to me to be nothing more than opportunism and dumping
