    Default The manual thread

    Hi Guys,

we lost the manuals thread in the great crash of 2010... Lets get this kicked off. I'll chase up the Tony Jackson DS manual downloads site. I have some CX manuals on my website. There was quite a bit of traction downloadable stuff we have lost the links too as well.

Post your Citroen manual download links here!

The D series Manuals are all here on A new site which Tony Jackson has a hand in with Mick Popka who kindly created the site.
Downloads from here seem much quicker than the old site.

I have the Haynes Xantia one, it is marginally useful for a few things but not really worth buying. Beware many of the electronic download manuals you find on the net are the Haynes, do not bother.

Type in "repair manual download citroen sm" & you will find an Australian site called rmd with several citroen manuals in cd form for around $25, I have the one for the SM & it is huge, havent seen the other Citroen manuals but if they are as good as the SM one, good value. It has other older cars for those of other tastes too.

Blue cover; Repair Manual, ID 19. For vehicles supplied before Sept 1962

    Icon11 Full C5 Haynes manual

I know you all have a purchased copy of the C5 Haynes manual, but of course don't always carry it in the car - however with internet access you could use this to get you out of trouble

CX and XM manuals here, together with a design for a home-made sphere tester, all in English. Some Xantia service bulletins, too, but in Swedish.

A series manuals, parts list and other valuable stuff here:

We still need a source of vol 2 (Man 8162) of the 2CV manual which covers removal, overhaul and refitting. Can anyone help?

    Citroen Manual Downloads
    Hi Guys,

I've had quite a few poeple email me after the CX manuals to download. I know of no-one that hosts them I can't find the space to host them myself (unless anyone else has heaps of space to spare).

Here's manuals I do know of... Please add some more so we can make a list !!

    DS Manuals:
    http://www.agua.nu/ds-files/tony-jackson/

    Traction Manuals
    http://www.traction-owners.co.uk/tech.htm

In the past I have downloaded a stack of manuals, however unfortunatly didn't bother to keep a link to the pages... We should try and keep track of these sites so others can grab the manuals too !

    CX Manuals
I have placed a copy of the CX manuals up on a website (in time some others as well) . They are divided into chapters rather than full document. I'll see how the usage goes as what else I can put there.

    http://citroen.thelewisfamily.id.au/

I have restricted it to Registered Users BTW

I don't suppose anyone has a source for the spare parts book for GS models? Not the two volume workshop manual, they're available, I'm looking for the parts book. There must be an electronic copy out there somewhere, surely.
    Cheers,
    Brett

Brett, some of it (circa 1975) is here:

How's your German? It's a part of this site, which looks to have some good stuff on it.

    Hi Stargazer,

    Welcome to

Citroën do indeed have an online parts catalogue here.

You need to sign up to generate a user name and password, but other than that it's free to view parts and owners manuals online.

It costs to view workshop and wiring manuals, however.

    G'Day John,
I downloaded a PDF of the CX microfish parts system. It is great. Each drawing ( exploded format ) shows a number for each part within that drawing. You then reference the number against the list of parts shown on that page and read off the appropriate part number. For instance the gear change mechanism shows the pivot ball pin as '7' that converts to 5 444 467. I ordered this part from Western Hemispheres yesterday. I received an email from Miles Potter asking if this was really the part I needed as usually the plastic bush is the problem. I informed him that I have already replaced the bush and that was indeed the part I needed due to the wear caused by bearing against the metal where the bush had broken up. I look forward to seeing how quickly the part arrives and shudder to think of the cost now that the dollar buys 61 cents US.
I do not recall the site I downloaded the Microfish from. If you like I could burn you a copy on disk and send it to you. Contact me privately with your address for postage.
    Cheers Gerry

    Traction Light & Big 15 Handbook 1953
While looking for a manual for a radio I found this Light & Big 15 handbook here:
    http://safemanuals.com/user-guide-instructions-owner-manual/CITROEN/TRACTION%20AVANT%20%40%40%20FRONT%20WHEEL%20DRIVE-_E

There is an XM parts books and a couple of other Citroen items, but it's value is that it lists all kinds of manuals in PDF format. I'd never seen this site before, but it has a huge amount of informaiton available and you could start here:
    http://safemanuals.com/

    07/11/2008, 22h36 David S
    PSA online parts information
You can register for the public parts systems here:
    http://public.servicebox.peugeot.com/
    http://service.citroen.com/
It's easy to register and the layout is similar for both.

These are parts only, not manuals. Iknow the Citroen information certainly covers BX and XM, but seaching by VIN may not work before the mid-90's. It's easier to use than microfiche, but if you do not have a VIN or it doesn't filter on the VIN because the car is too old (time to trade!), you will need to be able to identify the relevant sections from an often long list.

    Hi Erik,

I don't know how to contact them, but the '2CV Katalog ND od. rv. 1979' is in fact the multilingual 1991 Parts list I scanned from microfiche a few years back. I'm delighted that they are offering it, but some may be disappointed to discover that it is chiefly for cars a good bit later than 1979. Can you pass this on? Also, it is now a rather out-of-date copy. The latest is available free here:

    Hi Shane and all,

I've just put up a preliminary version of the last version of manual 465 for the DS19. It has a Bookmark index, and is paginated, so, for example, you can go to an illustration by dragging the scroll bar to find its number, then return to where you were in the text by way of the "back" button.

The manual was scanned by Joe Hovel, from Roger Wilkinson's original. Much thanks to both!

I'll leave the earlier edition up for a while, as it has the advantages of pages which will fit straight onto A4, and half of it is ocr'd, so you can search for text within it.

It may be helpful to pass on the address of my list of Citroen Publications, which includes links to all the publications I know of which are available for free download. Of course, if any one knows of others...
