Default DS Bordeaux or Rouge De Grenade

    Hi hi hi

My D Special is the Bordeaux colour. I like the Rouge De Grenade though. Do you think this car is the latter? It looks lamost metallic. Just getting ideas for the eventual resto.

BX colour, Rouge Furio non-metallic and bright. Though I do like a nice Burgundy on a DS. There was one floating around Perth a few years back driven by an Asian.

Here's one in Rouge De Grenade. A little more sophisticated I think. The Bordeaux is a little too brown for me. Not a lot in it know but I'm only gonna do it once so want to make the right choice.

I like them both to be honest and would love my own DS a similar colour. If I had to choose, I'd go with the one at the top...I can keep the brown interior then without it feeling out of place....

Does anybody know the colour of Bob Kings red DS ?? That car looks looks stunning in the flesh. It's the deep metalic red.

I'm trying to convince my father we should paint his DS23 the dark metalic blue, or red like Bobs car. Sadly he's insistant he wants it that ugly kriginal metalic gold the majority of DS pallas's were painted. I've never seen a metalic gold DS that look nice, they always look faded and patchy at best. Oh well, at least if it's metalic gold, the bodywork doesn't need to be as perfect.

Good choice. It is the same image and is my preference if I change my DS from Sable metallise on a respray.

Whatever you do, do not drink too much bordeaux whilst deciding or you could wind up going overbordeaux.

    Both are beautiful colours

If you want to be colour correct then look on the colour charts on nuancierds.fr (spelling?) I think rpuge de grenade goes with the 72 onwards? And bordeaux was on earlier models

Yes, Bob told me that it was painted with a Holden colour. He did say the name but I can't recall what it was.
I thought that while the paint work was brilliant that the colour was a little bright and garish.
He is currently doing another in the same colour. This one is an Auto whereas the other one was a BVH

I think your Dad is right Shane, Beige Tholonet is my favourite colour on a DS and you can have a white roof as well to keep a bit cooler. It is a bit like the Vert Calis on the Prestige, it hides dirt very well but cleans up very nicely. You forget how bright it used to be

You took the words out of his mouth. The AWD Verada he used to have was a metalic gold, it looked little different if it hadn't been washed for 6months

It's his car, so if he wants gold, we'll make it gold ... Me ? I'd paint it a nice dark colour

I think black looks really nice on a DS, but not the 3rd nose, it doesn't suite the bright white headlight shells

dark colours make for hot travel in summer.
