I've seen pix of it before. Arguably the ugliest modded GS ever, where every embellishment adds another degree of repugnance.
    Once upon a time:

    Many R4s (incl. fourgonnette), R5LS, R16TS.

GS 1015, 1220, sedans and wagons.
    CX 2200, 2400.
    ID 1966, 1969, DS21H, DSpecial, DS23 Pallas.
    C5 2002, 2004 petrol and diesel.
sold ..... D Special 1974 ... to fellow Tassie AFer.
sold ..... Xantia Activa 1998 (look out Gulargambone)

    And now:

    C5 2.2 HDI 2005 wagon
    CX25GTi 1985 auto
    CX2500 IE Pallas 1985 auto
    DS23 1973 Pallas
    DS23EFI 1975 Pallas
    1986 2CV6
    GS 5 speed sedan

Now on carsales.com.au. $25k, with the same spiel. Caveat emptor indeed.

Never before has the term Caveat emptor been more applicable.

. . .another not ebay but Gumtree.

Drivers handbook for late D - looks to be in good condition $20.00 with the D Autobook repair manual thrown in.
    https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/cata...ual/1141832989

Or maybe you could start your D restoration by collecting a car piece by piece. . .
Starting with 3 rear guards $200.00

I did see that one but thought I'd keep it for myself

Joking, but depending on what the seller thinks it's worth it would be a candidate to be re-birthed. You would be buying the hard to get parts most of which you would be better placed buying as re-manufactured.

If you had a donor tub, it would make great reference for what goes where - needs a good home in the meantime. Sandgate is a short drive from home. . .

There is also a CX Prestige C-matic listed, an interesting ad on ebay. Pics showing how it could look after $50k+ restoration

    Cheers

pffffft! In Citroen (Jaeger) time you are 5 minutes from finishing your Special - what then?

You would be a perfect candidate to take on a BVH project - you know you want to. . .

I'd love a DS21 Chris. One that all I had to do is open the door and turn the key on! Still saving that beasty would be a great achievement, but not for me. No blue day way!

I don't hate the look of that car .... I'd get it mechanically "right" ... fix any rust that is in the hull ... and leave it looking just as it does now. I'd NEVER have to worry about it in carparks... wouldn't need to worry about it getting crashed or stolen. You'd get an enormous amount of space on the roads... people would never be brave enough to do something stupid infront of a car that looks like that (as you obviously don't care if it gets bent). I'd have to change the rear bumper and bootlid though ( I couldn't live with upside down chevrons). I'd just bend the slight bend rear guard back straight. The interior you put big thick heavy sheepskin covers on so you don't get scratched up by it.

The biggest bonus of course is you have a DS hydraulic to drive I'd LOVE to have a DS hydraulic car of any type... Who knows, oneday you might restore it ... but in the meantime you have an amazing DS BVH to drive!
