    Default CX Temp gauge

The mention of the CX temp gauge in another thread has prompted this question.
Why does my '77 2.2 4 speed CX have a temp gauge, yet the two 2.4 C-matic cars ('79 & '80) do not?

I remember seeing a page somewhere which mentions (in great detail) the evolution of the CX. If anyone in AF-land has the link to the page I'm thinking of then I think your answer will lie there.

    That would be great.
I think the same page had all the colour codes etc. also.

Because they learnt you really didn't need to be told how expletive hot you were in a CX?

It was 36 degrees in Perth today and yes, I was in the CX. Not a good hot weather car (to say the expletive least!) and I will revert to the brilliantly cool BX tomorrow.

Mine is a 1980 car (C-matic, probably built in 1979) and it had no temp gauge (but has one fitted neatly in the globe ash tray by the previous owner).

    Cheers

    '80 C-matic no temp gauge
    '81 Prestige temp gauge
'77 Familiale retro fitted temp gauge

Looks like we gained the temp gauge '81 but lost the voltage meter
