    Default CX questions

    Three questions about the CX

1: Have been quoted $120 to have each front retractor seat belt webbing replaced. Are replacements (whole unit) available, or an aftermarket that will fit available? At what price!

2: exterior mirror on driver's door is electrically operated. Can/does the mirror head unit swivel? At the moment it needs to be repositioned so that I can see cars closer to my tail.

3: How difficult is it to remove the steel trims on the tops of the doors (below the window glass) and do they need special clips to refit? Car has a few rust 'bubbles' along these strips that need attention.

In my experience the steel rim is easy to remove but tricky to get off without damaging it. It is held in with plastic clips that break when it is removed.

    3. window trims secured by plastic clip slotted into metal pin or pop riveted on early cars I think

Thanks for the swift replies. The mirror head doesn't seem to move. Either it is rusted solid or was fixed in position. Suppose I could try some spray, soak and let penetrate before applying a bit of 'gentle' force.

Will have to get some clips then for the strips. Thanks.
