New C5 to replace Xantia model...

(Pictures & articles (summary) are taken from "Car News" magazine, September 29, 2000.)

Due in Australia next March, the C5 will boast a 3.0 V6 & more advanced Hydractive suspension.

This larger model is reported to offer the biggest passenger area in it's class.

The suspension adjusts ride height according to road speed; high speed - lower for obvious handling & aerodynamic reasons, & 13mm higher on rougher roads.

Bells & Whistles include: fold away when parked mirrors, speed controlled radio volume, various wiper features, reverse parking aid & low tyre pressure warning system.

Citroen are perhaps doing away with naming each model as they have previously done.

    Hi All.

I Just discoverd this forum through Alan S's link on the BX homepage. I just had a close look at the new C5 in a local & I like :-)
Here in the Uk the motoring press are raving about the new Ford mondeo but in my eyes the C5 is a far better package.
A test drive is forthcoming. I'll keep you informed.

I just saw the C5 wagon in our local (small town- nothing but holden and ford) rag. On the opposite page was the new Pug 307. Thought it interesting to see strong resemblances in the treatment of their respective front ends... Also interesting is the amount of interest lately in French product- even by small town press
