Citroen's Xsara model is set for a facelift in Australia possibly by March 2001.

Changes include ribbed bonnet, different grille containing larger Chevron badge, more powerful headlamps/ foglamps, & option of Satellite navigation system which also required the need for beefed up wiring.

Engine is likely to be a new 1.6 litre twin cam 16 valve motor, probably replacing the 1.8 litre available now. New 1.6 produces 80KW @ 5750rpm & 147Nm @ 4000 of torque.

There is a bigger enthasis on safety with more airbags & better side protection...

2 coupes will become available later in the year with an expected $30,000 entry price for the basic 1.6 litre model.

There is a demonstrator model at a local Citroen specialist here in Sydney so the March date for market release must be fairly accurate.
Australia doesn't get every model the European market gets, especially Citroen & Renault.
You can buy new a Xantia - 6 differing variants, a Zsara 5 door - 4 variations or a Berlingo without side sliding door.
Not even sure about the XM now either
