    Silver AX GT in Sydney

wink I might be seeing things but I just saw in the city a silver Citroen AX GT injected. on Clarence st in Sydney. It had a number plate of 'cty-2...'. Does anyone know who owns this car? It is a very good looking thing I must add.
    Any info.... wink

Apparantly they are a little pocket rocket.

To little & flimsy for my likings though. I've heard of BX16valve motors being fitted to them. That'd have to make it one of the quickest (if not deadliest :p :p ) things on the road

But really, if it was built after the 2CV (ie: mid '80s) and doesn't have UP 'n' DOWN suspension, why not just buy the equivelant Peugeot. At least you'll have the similar/same car with higher resale, and more service outlets

I was looking at it and it seemed to just have normal suspension also. If that was the case wouldnt you buy a Renault of some sort instead like a 5 turbo??

In AUS you didn't have much choice. Only the Pug and Citroen were sold. They were the only people who bothered to engineer the cars for airconditioning. The reason for the non appearance of the 5GTT in AUS was non availability of air and power steering, also the high cost factor in 1988.

Still it was a good blast in the black LNC evaluation model, and there are a couple of 5GTT private imports kicking around now. But none of the hot versions were sold in AUS as an automatic, unless you again get a private import 205GTi Auto, or plump for a 205Si auto.
