    What Hope Have We Got?!

This appeared in this weekend's Illawarra Mercury. For those who used to watch Stuart Littlemore on "Media Watch" you will recall that the IM was one of his favourite papers to bash. You can see why with this stuff up! Not as if they couldn't spell check from the page they were laying out....

The image is around 200k, so may take a while to load.

    Hi Craig,

From my newspaper days one of the cardinal rules was NEVER let the layout artists proofread - they seem congenitally unable to see spelling errors.

I hope whoever was running the ad got a good discount!

Maybe you shouldn't let computer programmers be spell checkers either. I read that 3times before I finaly realised what you were talking about

Then again, I'm one of those poeple that's never given a crap about spelling or grammar. evil

    "Dťesse" Roland Barthes, 'Mythologies', 1957

The Dťesse has all the characteristics of one of those objects fallen from another universe that fed the mania for novelty in the eighteenth century and a similar mania expressed by modern science fiction: the Dťesse is first and foremost the new Nautilus.
