    Default Best GS colours?

Donat's link from another thread (http://www.gs-gsa.org/?p=prod) is an excellent source of colours used on the GS.

My personal favourite is Orange Ténéré AC 329..

However I think they look sensational in Avocado (ala the Australian delivery R12s and Pug 504s).

I had 2 orange GS's (both regoed) at the same time, one a Gspecial 1015 & the other GS club 1220 (best GS I've ever driven).

The orange really suits it & only recently have cars been so bold with such leary colours from the factory, like the golds, limes & purples you see on the roads now.

I'm totally biased but I still love the Beige Tholonet* (M) AC 085

Links to pics of mine are in a previous posting....I think it really suits the lines of a GS and has not dated at all....

I like them in Rouge Massena.

Is it just me, or did Citroen dump all of their beige GS's onto the Australian market?

    RED!

    What else

My Dad's GS was red, and looked great when newer. Not sure what "kind" of red you'd call it though...mine was a reddy orange though, which I never liked that much...

Jaune cedrat (ac331, this picture looks a bit over-exposed) is the only way to go, unless of course you have a non-standard south african dark blue

Yes it seems that way. Perhaps they were trying to attract Peugeot drivers. I wonder if each beige GS came with a free cardigan and pipe?

You poor, poor fellas over there....

I've only ever come across one beige GS here, and the driver wasn't wearing a cardigan either

Most of them seemed to be either red, blue, or orange here....(I say seemed, because I havn't seen a GS on the road for a long time now, sadly)

Seeing as we are posting our own GS pictures....

Found this picture recently of my old GS in it's full glory.
Non standard blue, done in 2pack to perfection.
This pallas was silver. We bought it after it had rolled onto it's left side & bent the windscreen pillar.

Dad is in the driver's seat.

I like the deep metalic blue of my GS pallas. Having said that I do like Rouge Massena, it's the colour of my CX that I've driven since I was 17years old and painted and played & tinkered with for the following 12years

The only other colours I've really liked on the CX are the really dark metalic green I have on the C-matic here and the metalic red on the turbo... Whites browns, golds, pale metalic blues etc... Just don't look the part

Avocado would have to be the best colour IMO for the GS - I have seen a Avocado wagon going round the northside of Syd occaisionally (Had a chat to the owner!) and it looked sensational when it was well kept!

Really suits the 70's "era" of the car!

Yep, I'd have to agree with Joel, if I only had one GS (which luckily isn't likely to happen anytime soon), it would be have to be Avocado.... Sky blue would have to come a close second....

Great to see some the great seventies metalics making a comeback on small poogeots and sitrons.

    Hey Graham
There was one avocado (euro delivery from memory) Pallas here in Brisbane way back in the early 80s - it was a more vivid colour than the local Renault/Peugeot avocado green (even when they were new/ pre-faded). Haven't seen it for years though.

Imagine a GS in that R12 pale grape colour , and what was that mulberry sort of R12/504 colour called?

Saw a GSA once in what I think was Rouge Delage (the red on a 2CV Charleston, or some mid80s CXs) that looked very classy.

Certainly the 70s saw a lot of very "cheerful" colours around - I couldn't help but smile the day I drove my yellow GS home, and a few fellow motorists on the highway also smiled when they saw the car.

    Default GS Colours

My favourite GS spec would have to be a silver Pallas with blue upholstery, twin headlights and of course lots of chrome.

I have atached an image of my blue GS Club with original vinyl roof. A combination that works well to me.

    Red,Advocado,Orange and Blues are nice.

Here's mine in Jaune cédrat, a real 70's colour.

My dream car would be the black GS Basalte (see avatar)
those red side decals are just so 70's, so cool!

    Raver,
Have you noticed that Chevronics has Basalte sticker sets in their catalogue?

    Cheers,
